Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and 137 & Co., a Maryland company ("we"), the operator of GrandBower, and govern your use of GrandBower during its free public beta. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use GrandBower. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account.

Early Access

GrandBower is in active development. Features may change, break, or be removed, and data may occasionally be reset as we improve the platform. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law.

Accounts & fair play

• Provide accurate information and one account per person unless we agree otherwise.
• Do not cheat, exploit bugs, automate play, or interfere with matchmaking, ratings, or other players.
• Do not harass, abuse, or post unlawful, hateful, or infringing content in chat or profiles.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we moderate reported chat to keep the community safe.

Bots and house games

GrandBower includes AI opponents, and some ranked tables may seat them; results against AI opponents in ranked play count toward your rating. We also run games played only between bots ("house" games) to keep tables active. House games never affect any player's rating.

No wagering or prizes

GrandBower is played for fun and ranking only. There is no real-money play, wagering, entry fee or prize of any monetary value, and you may not use the service to arrange or settle bets.

Premium features

The beta is free. Nothing is sold and no payments are collected. Some features are marked as coming to future paid plans; during the beta they are previews, and access to them may change. If paid plans launch, their price and purchase terms will be presented before you buy, and nothing will be charged without your explicit purchase.

Advertising

The service is supported by advertising as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your display name, bio, and avatar). You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service — for example, to display your profile and to store and moderate chat.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time under Settings → Privacy & Data. We may suspend or end access for conduct that breaches these terms or harms the service or its users.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, ratings or progress, arising from your use of the service. Because the beta is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Allegany County, Maryland, except that if you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring claims in its courts.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here, and where appropriate we will ask you to review and accept the updated terms.
